Rudis the Red-Leaved Radish by Joyce Shen when she was 8 1/2

I was once walking in my small yard. That's when something funny happened. It was a beautiful day, and the mailman was delivering packages he made himself. He arrived at my house, and he gave one of the packages to me. I opened the package while the mailman zoomed away from my house. Inside the package were some seeds. I planted them, and before I even watered them,all the seeds combined together to make a red leaved radish. Suddenly, it flew all over the sky, while I fainted. Later, I was in the hospital woken up. I had no idea who saved me. The nurse said she was the one. How I wished it was Rudis the red-leaved radish. When I came home, the same happened. The same thing happened again and again, until Rudis died. When the nurse came to my house, she said I had to pay $45,000,000! At least it was just a dream. I woke up, and I saw a mailman. I said "no" to the package. Whew!

Vacation to Honolulu

My family and my grandparents went to a fantastic vacation to Honolulu for 6 days.

First, we got to Honolulu. My dad didn’t know which hotel we’re supposed to go to. So, we went around and around in circles. We had to ask if we’re supposed to be in the hotel were in. They said, “No” Then we went around in circuit again. Finally we got to the hotel that has one extra room for us. My dad was paying money for the hotel, so we were sitting on the couch for a while. When my dad was done paying, we unpacked our stuff and sent my grandparents to another room. Next, we got some sleep.

A few days later, we went to the beach without my grandparents. My mom told me that there were no sharks because the wall is blocking it. Then we went into the ocean. I was trying to use my snorkel. Sometimes the water comes in, but it was still fine. Every time I swim with it, I just go a little tiny bit. And then, I saw how my mom was doing it. It went a long time. So, she made me very surprised. Then I said, “Wonderful!” When we were done playing with my snorkel, I was playing around in the sand. Then my mom said, “Time to go home!” So we went home and took a bath. “Hurry!” my mom shouted. I knew shy she said that because there was going to be a pretty sun-set. So, I hurried. When I was done, I saw the pretty sun-set. It was coming down and down and down and down. Lower and lower and lower and lower. My mom was taking some pictures of it. My dad was watching it too.

Then, we climbed a volcano. I first thought it was a mountain. And then, my mom said it was a volcano. Then we first took some pictures before we climbed it. Then we did. One time, there was mud, so my dad had to carry me over. And then, there was lots of stairs. But we still climbed it. Finally l we got to the top. My mom was very proud of me! Then I saw there was a little small house. Some people were sitting on the roof. I wanted to go on the roof, well we can’t.

Then we went down the volcano. When we were down, we got some lunch and went to the big ocean. Over there, we had to find a place to sit at. Also, the sand is very thick. Well, we wanted to play by the ocean so we did.

A day after that, we went to a place called Dole. I went to the maze; It was very hard because we had to finish all six. How do you keep track which on you did? You first go into the maze. When you are finished with one of them, you will see a Hawaii picture. Just trace it and you are done with that one. When we were done with all six, a person gave me a little prize. Then we went home.

After that, we went to the zoo. I kind of like the kids Zoo, so we went there. When we got there, I only saw a little bit of animals because I was a little shy. There was a water thing (When you spin it, water comes out. ) The last one I did was going in a tunnel with fishes on the all. It was real fishes, so they were actually in a tank.

Finally, we got home. This trip was fantastic and fun!

Where’s Ashleen?

On a Halloween night, Ashleen was the first one to finish dinner. She was very eager to go trick-or-treating. But her mom and dad were not done yet. After 15 minutes, Ashleen asked if they’re done. They said,”15 more minutes. “ “Noooooo!!!!!!!” Ashleen shouted loudly. Then she quickly ran out all by herself. Her parents went to find Ashleen, but they didn’t find her. Also, they noticed that they were naked except their underwear was on. So they decided to be Captain Underpants. They went left, right, left, right and in circles. They knew Ashleen could only run 1 mile an hour. Actually, she was hiding from them because she was really mad. When she got to another neighborhood, She realized it was midnight. Ashleen was very tired. She wanted to go home. But she can’t. So she waited, and waited, and waited ‘till 1 hour passed. She saw her parents! Ashleen gave her mom a kiss and her dad a hug. And then she said, “Sorry. “ So they all got home and went to bed.

6/28/08 at Beijing

Today is a fun day at Beijing. We went to the furniture store and the

pool. First, we had an argue. I wanted to go to jinyuan mall, but my

dad said not to, we had to go to the furniture store. My dad told me I

really can't go to jinyuan mall 'cause my mom was typing a message and

she said I can't go. Even grandpa and grandma said that! So I got down

the building and went into the taxi. Next, we got there. We were

finding where to buy the curtains. And then, we finally found where to

buy curtains. I picked a curtain that I liked. Then my dad told me to

go to another store. I didn't like the other store's curtains, so I

went back to the store that had my favorite curtain. When we got

outside, I wanted to go to the restroom (It was very disgusting!!!!!).

Last, we got back home. We ate lunch. Then we slept. When we woke up it

was 3:15. I said it was time to get up. "Who will get up?" I asked my

dad. He said I will. Then I said we both have to. My dad said he has to

first sleep a little more. Then I said I'll make me hot. After that, we

went to the pool. Someone wanted to play with our ball. So they did.

Today is a fun day, just with lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calling Mr. Fish

Once upon of time there was a fish that teaches lots of things. Everyone was calling him Mr. Fish. Instead, he didn't like it. One day, an ant came. She said calling Mr. Fish is actually good because he teaches lots of things and he can be a teacher. So whenever the people call him Mr. Fish, he is happy instead of mad.
